Over the course of his life, Sam authored and compiled dozens of Divrei Torah. Sam was a ‘Torah Jew’, inspired in large part during his two years spent at Yeshivat Har Etzion. He was fascinated by the intricacies of the Torah and how they permeated every facet of our lives. His writings weave together the Torah with history, archeology, commentary and valuable life lessons.
For those that knew Sam, they know he was a modest, understated and kind person, who spoke only when he had something of importance to share. In this first volume, we will publish around a dozen Divrei Torah selected by Sam. We know he wrote these words of Torah with tremendous intent and hope they will inspire you as they have our family.
Copies are sponsored by the Borodach Family. We ask that you consider making a donation to one of the following organizations.
Sam studied at Yeshivat Har Etzion for two years, where he advanced his Torah study. He long believed that the Hesder Yeshiva was a beacon of Orthodox Judaism and foundational institution for Torah in Israel and within the modern world.
Israel was central to who Sam was as a Jew. The critical work being done at Shaare Zedek has made it possible for Jewish life in Israel to prosper over the last century - during good times and the more challenging ones.
Over the last years, and particularly since Covid, Sam could be found participating in daily minyanim or learning with a chevruta in Arzei Darom. The Shul recently underwent an expansion to accommodate years of growth. The Divrei Torah will also be available in the Shul’s new Beit Midrash.
Thank you
We wanted to extend a big thank you to our friends, extended family, and the many communities that are near and dear to us who have been here for us throughout the last year.
Sam was a wonderful person whose legacy lives on by the lives he touched.
We hope you will cherish his Torah and spread his yearning for peace and yiddishkeit.
With love,
The Borodach Family
